London Fashion Week--Lace it up!

We're back with a new post from LONDON fashion week and it's all about the lace. This ever so elegant look will no doubt turn heads, as lace is one of those fabrics that will always make a women feel beautiful. The power of lace can most definitely dress up an outfit and make one look well suited for the occasion. The subtlety and grace of lace is ever so sexy, perfect for those date nights when you want to look that extra bit put together. Not only that, lace can also be dressed down, perfect for those summery days when you want to go "bohemian", for that effortless and sheik look. You can never go wrong with lace, especially white lace. An idea for a casual outfit- throw on a simple lace-white dress, add a brown waist belt to accessorise and some nude sandals to complete the look and you're good to go. Or perhaps dress it down and make it a lot more casual, you could pair the dress with a denim jacket, adding to the "boho" look, which is of course what everyone is going for these days.

For those of you who are a little bit more playful and look to pair the lace with some contrasting and quirky prints, I suggest opting for pastels, as they complement lace looks exceptionally well. The lace on lace look is also one to look out for, if you are looking into it, then I suggest going with white, as its a neutral tone and won't confuse the print with other lace colours. The trick is to play with lighter colours, as lace always always looks great with nudes and pastels.

Be sure to keep it classy with heels, you can never go wrong with a nice pair of heels- they always complete the look.

SAUDI ARABIAN FASHION

People in Saudi Arabia tend to stick to the more traditional style of clothing unlike some countries. Traditional garments have been adapted to modern day society, which Saudi Arabians usually choose to wear. The prominent loose, flowing attire is worn to combat the Kingdom’s heat, windswept climate, while also symbolizing the Islamic ideal of modesty.

CLOTHING OF MEN IN SAUDI ARABIA

Men are usually seen wearing an ankle length dress like shirt of wool or cotton known as a ‘Thawb”. Some men choose to wear a large piece of cotton cloth, which is folded over and over, and usually placed ontop of skullcap known as a kufiyyah, a rope secures this and it is called an Igaal.  The outer cloaks which embodies the inner dress is made out of wool/camel hair and is known as a bisht, this completes the outfit. In todays society, even though majority of the population are seen to be wearing traditional garments, boys and men also engage in western fashion. 

CLOTHING OF WOMEN IN SAUDI ARABIA

Women in Saudi Arabia are usually seen wearing long flowy black cloaks known as Abayas over any dresses they may wear inside. Nowadays, as the clothing has slowly adapted to modern day society, women are seen wearing different coloured abayas, which come in different styles. Saudi women usually wear a Shayla on their heads, which is black, scarf that is wrapped around the head and secured with pains or jewelry. Saudi Arabian women also wear traditional dresses often richly decorated with embroidery or, coins, sequins etc.

Men's Fashion: Footwear

It’s very important that you get your footwear right when it comes to dressing up – They aren't as subtle as accessories – They can really make or break an outfit. Every man needs at least 3 pairs of shoes:

1.       1 pair of gym/sport trainers (For sportswear with trackies or shorts)

2.       1 pair of Black leather office shoes (For corporate or formal occasions)

3.       1 pair of casual high-tops/loafers or everyday shoes (For wearing with chinos or jeans)

Shoes are an investment: You’re not a child anymore, and so your feet aren’t going to grow too much. I personally recommend forking out on a nice pair of shoes that will actually last you. Granted, you can pay anywhere between $50 AUD - $300 AUD for a nice pair of shoes, but think of it like this: You’ll wear them EVERY SINGLE DAY!

For those of us that have perhaps, “upped the anti” however, there is a whole new level that awaits you! Throw in canvas shoes, plimsolls, you can choose to add colours, different styles (Lace up, or zip up), and off course, not to mention: With or without socks!

Be wary though, there’s no need to stick to these rules hard and fast! Go out there and have your own take on things. Because remember:

Men's Formal Dinner Attire

Dinner Parties

When getting ready for Formal Dinner parties it can be confusing at times, so today i am going to go through a check list for some of the different types of formal dinner parties.

so to begin with lets start with 

White Tie Events:

White tie: Source

The white dress code is the most strictest dress code so you have to careful when you dress for this.

1. White full-dress shirt with pique wing collar
2. White bow tie
3. White Shirt studs
4. Black double breasted tailcoat
5. White Waistcoat
6. White cuff-links
7. Black plated pants w/satin stripe on outer seam
8. Black opera pumps or patent leather oxfords

Waistcoat should cover trouser waistband but not extend below tailcoat, also the tailcoat should never be worn closed

Black Tie Events:

Black tie events are the most common types of Dinner parties

1. Black tuxedo jacket w/satin peak lapel
2. black bow tie
3. white dress shirt or tux pleat shirt
4. Black cummerbund or waistcoat
5. Cuff-links
6. Black flat front tuxedo pants w/satin stripe on outer seam
7. Black patent leather oxfords

Black tie Optional:

Some times at these events they give you an option to either were the black tie or not, in this case you will have yo make some adjustments to your wardrobe, at these events the strictness of the dress code will depend on the occasion and host.

1. Colored bow tie or Neck Tie
2. Flower lapel or boutonniere
3. Going without a cummerbund
4. Pocket Square
5. Dark grey tux instead of a black tux

Black Tie Creative:

Black tie creative is another variation on the Black Tie event dress code, this variation allows you to showcase your personal style in terms of color, accessories and collar and lapel style

1. Shawl Lapel
2. Colorful bow tie or neck tie
3. Tuxedo in full dark color
4. color jacket with contrast lapel
5. slim cut pants
6. Dark brown wingtips

The final dress code that i am going to talk to you about is the Lounge dress code, this dress code is one of the lesser known ones so in case someone does invite you to an event with this dress code you will be ready..

Lounge dress code:

This dress code maintains formality while allowing for integration of more color and options in to your look. For this dress code Tuxedos are point less, a suit in a dark or neutral  color such as black, navy or gray is recommended.

1. Two button suit
2. Notch lapel
3. Semi-spread collar dress shirt
4. Pocket Square
5. Skinny tie & tie bar
6. slim cut pants
7. whisky colored oxfords

If your invitation does not state the dress code then this next video that i found will be useful.

Chinese modern man fashion

China had seclusion the country from the outside world. This was a bad policy. Economic and culture was backward. That was the unadvisable activity before but China is different thoroughly. Chinese culture studies and develop with other countries. Modern China already set up the fashion that can reach the world. San David is a local brand in China. It had staged a serious of Chinese fashion show. Let us through these photos below to look at Chinese modern man fashion.

The first one is a combo of the Western-style clothes and Chinese tunic suit. It has a shirt and a western style pants. The biggest factor is the coat. The coat’s style is Chinese tunic but it has changed some little details it likes the wristband and the whole proportion. That is a combination of Chinese and western.

The second one explain a freedom style. Suit and pant are wide than normal but it is not excessive. It displays an unconstraint situation.

That is a successful combination of old and new. Monochrome shirt has a landscape and is tight. Pant is wide. This combo felling is gentleman but not serious.

FASHION OF AFRICA

Don’t you just get mesmerised by the amazing prints and vibrant colors of African clothing!? I’m sure I do! African clothing has changed over time, however Europeans and Arabs have had great influence in the way the fashion of Africa has been shaped. Today we see modern day Africans wearing the western style of shirts, pants, dresses and shoes. Nonetheless, there still remain the traditional African whom combine their cultural clothing with the western style creating a infusion of exotic styles.

African Women’s clothing

Traditional women’s clothing comes in many different styles, prints with whole a range. African women’s clothing includes beaded skirts, kaftans, blankets, veils and other exotic materials. They are known for their outfits filled with vibrant colors and colorful jewelry. Kaftan is an popular option most African women opt for. It is a gorgeous full-length dress, made very loose and flowy with beautiful bursts of color and embroidery. They are usually made out of cotton or silk. A more lavish and elegant option is known as the African Queen dress, which is known for its flamboyant design and style. Unlike the Kaftan, the African Dress is known to exhibit the woman’s full figure. The prominent tie dye you  may witness on many African outfits is characterized by the symbols and designs suggesting fertility meanings, who knew that!

 African Men's Clothing

In East Africa the weather is mainly very hot, and men are found wearing Kangas and Kitenges, which are a type of T-shirt around their waists. However, the national dress for the Kenyan men is a full-sleeved dashiki shirt, which goes with matching pants and a kofia (hat).  Some men still wear kaftans but women mostly wear them. Tanzanian men wear a white robe called Kansu that has a tassel and a small round cap (kofia).

 

Milan Fashion Week- purple's REIGN

Hi my lovelies :)

Who doesn't love a bit of Vampish Femininity, I know I do. The latest trend that's been hitting the Milan runway and straight into our stores is this bold, yet beautiful pop of colour. The colour purple has to be one of my favourite colours, it pretty much pairs well with everything! Purple is one of those colours that can be worn during the summer days and alternatively during the cold wintery nights, you can just never go wrong with the colour and there's no such thing as too much purple, ask Daphiny from Scooby-doo ;) Her entire look consisted of purple from head-to-toe, however no one said a thing because it was balanced right, she had incorporated a few bold purple pieces with contrasts of white and orange throughout. 

For those of you who are a little reluctant choosing a "bold" colour, I suggest going for purple. The subtlety will never be too much and not much of an eye catcher, if that's the vibe you're going for. Just make sure to pair it with some nude heels and contrasting clutch and you're all good to go-it's as easy as that!
